Term Life Insurance in Frisco
Term life pays your beneficiaries a set amount if you die during the years your family depends on your income. We help you choose the amount and the length, compare carriers, and stay with you until the policy is issued and filed.
Straightforward coverage for the years that matter most
A term policy covers you for a fixed period, usually 10, 15, 20 or 30 years. Your premium stays level for that term, as set out in the policy. If you pass away while it is in force, your beneficiaries receive the face amount, generally free of income tax. If you outlive the term, the coverage ends and nothing is paid. That trade is why term costs far less than whole life for the same amount.
It is usually the right call when the need has an end date: a mortgage with 22 years left, children who will finish college, a spouse who would need time to rebuild income. Most families we talk with in Frisco and the surrounding area start here, then decide later whether permanent coverage fits.
Our team is small on purpose. The agent who asks your first questions is the one who reviews your application, reads your offer from the carrier and walks you through the final paperwork.

What we handle for you
- 01
A needs calculation you can follow
We add up your debts, years of income to replace, future college costs and final expenses, then subtract savings and any coverage through work. You see each number, so the amount we suggest is never a mystery.
- 02
Choosing the term length
We match the term to your longest real obligation. Some clients split coverage into two policies, such as a 30-year and a 20-year, so the amount steps down as the mortgage and the kids' needs shrink.
- 03
Carrier comparison
Carriers judge the same health history differently. One may rate well-controlled blood pressure kindly while another penalizes it. We shop your profile with that in mind.
- 04
Application and exam coordination
We fill out the application with you, schedule any paramedical exam at your office or another place that suits you, and follow up with the underwriter so the file does not stall.
- 05
Beneficiary and conversion review
We set up primary and contingent beneficiaries correctly and point out the policy's conversion window, which lets you move to permanent coverage later without a new medical exam.
Questions about Term Life Insurance?
Call(469) 717-3900Signs it is time to look at term life
You just took on a mortgage
A large balance with decades to run is the classic reason to buy. A term policy can be sized to clear it if you are gone. Our Mortgage Protection Insurance page covers a more targeted option.
A child arrived or is on the way
Eighteen or more years of childcare, schooling and daily costs now rest on your income. That is a long, defined need.
Your only coverage comes through work
Group life often equals one or two years of salary and usually ends when you leave the job. It rarely covers the full picture on its own.
Someone relies on your paycheck
A spouse, a business partner or an aging parent who depends on your earnings would feel the loss right away.
Your old policy is nearing its end
If a 10- or 20-year term expires soon, renewal rates can climb sharply each year. Reviewing it a year or two early gives you options while your health is known.
How a term life policy comes together
- 1
A first conversation by phone
We ask about your family, income, debts and health in plain terms. It takes about half an hour, and you leave with a suggested amount and term.
- 2
Quotes side by side
We show offers from several carriers with the same amount and term, and explain why one rates you better than another. You choose, or decide not to go ahead.
- 3
Application and underwriting
Many applicants qualify without an exam. Others meet a paramedical examiner for a short visit with blood pressure, blood and urine samples. Underwriting typically runs from a few days to several weeks, and we keep you posted.
- 4
Delivery and filing
When the policy is issued, we go through it page by page with you, confirm the beneficiaries and make sure you know where the documents live. The same agent remains your contact afterward.
What shapes your term life premium
Term premiums are set by the carrier from a short list of factors, and once issued they stay level for the term. We show you how each choice changes the quote so you can adjust the amount or length before you commit. There are no hidden layers; what you see on the offer is what you pay.
- Age at application
- Each year older adds cost, so buying sooner locks in a lower level rate for the whole term.
- Health and tobacco use
- Carriers assign a health class from your medical history, prescriptions, build and family history. Tobacco or nicotine use, including vaping, places you in a higher class.
- Coverage amount and term length
- A larger face amount and a longer term both raise the premium. A 30-year term costs more per year than a 20-year term because the carrier carries the risk longer.
- Riders you add
- Options such as a waiver of premium if you become disabled, or a child term rider, add a modest amount. We only suggest the ones that fit your situation.
Term life questions we hear often
How much term life coverage do I need?
A common starting point is several years of your income plus your debts and future college costs, minus savings and existing coverage. The right figure depends on your own numbers, which is why we work it out line by line with you. Many clients land lower or higher than the rule of thumb once the real figures are in.
What happens when my term ends?
The coverage stops and no premiums are refunded, unless you bought a return-of-premium version. Most policies let you renew year to year at much higher rates, or convert to permanent coverage before a set age. We remind you to review well before the end date.
Can I convert my term policy to whole life later?
Many term policies include a conversion privilege that lets you switch to permanent coverage without new medical underwriting, within a stated window. The details vary by carrier, so we check them before you buy. Our Whole Life Insurance and Universal Life Insurance pages explain those options.
Will I need a medical exam to get approved?
That depends on your age, your health history and the amount you apply for. A growing number of carriers can approve people in good health using prescription histories, driving records and medical information databases alone. Higher face amounts or certain conditions usually lead to a brief paramedical visit. When one is needed, we book it at your office or wherever is easiest for you.
Should I keep the term policy I have through work?
Keep it, but treat it as a supplement. Group coverage usually ends if you change jobs, and it may be too small to cover a mortgage and children. An individual term policy stays with you regardless of employer.
