Retirement Income Planning in Frisco

We help you turn what you have saved into income that arrives every month, using annuities and life insurance where they fit. The same agent sits with you from the first conversation through each yearly review, so you never have to explain your plans twice.

Income that keeps arriving after the paychecks stop

Most people reach retirement with a balance, not a paycheck. A 401(k) or IRA tells you what you have, but not how much you can safely spend each month or what happens if markets fall the year you stop working. Retirement income planning answers those questions before they become problems.

Our part of the picture is the insurance side: fixed and indexed annuities that can pay income for life, permanent life insurance with cash value, and riders that protect a spouse. We look at what Social Security and any pension will cover, find the gap, and show you which options could fill it and what each one gives up in return.

We are a small team on purpose. The agent who builds your plan is the one who delivers the policy, answers your questions later and sits down with you each year to check it still fits.

What your plan includes

An income gap review
We add up the income you can count on, such as Social Security and pensions, and compare it with what you expect to spend. The difference is the number your savings need to cover.
Annuity options side by side
We compare fixed, indexed and income annuities from more than one carrier. You see the payout, the surrender period and the fees for each, laid out in plain terms.
Spouse and beneficiary protection
A single-life payout can stop when one spouse dies. We show how joint-life income, survivor options or a life insurance policy can keep the surviving spouse covered.
A look at policies you already own
Older whole life or universal life policies sometimes carry cash value that can support retirement income. We review them and tell you honestly whether to keep, adjust or leave them alone.
A yearly review
Each year we sit down with you to check income, beneficiaries and any changes in health or family. It is the same agent every time.

Signs it is time to plan your retirement income

  • Retirement is ten years away or less

This is the window when decisions about timing, guarantees and risk matter most. Waiting narrows the choices.

  • Your savings have no drawdown plan

If you know your balance but not how much you can take out each month, you have savings without an income plan.

  • Market drops keep you up at night

A steep loss right before or after you retire can do lasting damage. Part of your income may belong somewhere that does not ride the market.

  • Your spouse depends on your pension

If your pension or income would shrink or stop at your death, your spouse needs a plan for that day.

  • You are unsure what your old policies do

Many clients carry a policy bought decades ago and have not read it since. It may help, or it may need attention.

How we build your plan

  1. 1

    A first conversation

We talk by phone about your timeline, savings and what retirement should look like. There is no pressure to decide anything on that call.

  2. 2

    Gathering the details

We review statements, Social Security estimates, pension information and any existing policies. We can meet at your office or keep it by phone, whichever suits your schedule.

  3. 3

    Your written options

You receive a short set of choices showing monthly income, guarantees, costs and what each option gives up. We walk through them line by line and answer every question.

  4. 4

    Setup and every year after

Once you choose, we handle the applications and deliver the policy in person or by phone. Then we stay on as your agent, reviewing the plan each year as life changes.

What shapes the cost and the income

There is no single price for retirement income. What matters is how much monthly income a given amount of savings can buy, and what each guarantee costs along the way. We put those trade-offs in writing before you commit to anything.

Your age when income begins
Starting income later usually means a larger monthly payment. Starting early gives you money sooner but stretches it over more years.
Single or joint life
Income that continues for a surviving spouse pays somewhat less each month than income on one life. Many couples find that trade worth making.
Guarantees and riders
Lifetime income riders, inflation adjustments and death benefit features each add cost or reduce the payout. We show the number with and without each one.
Access to your money
Annuities with longer surrender periods often pay more, but tie up funds for those years. Keeping part of your savings liquid is usually wise.

Retirement income questions

Something not covered here? (469) 717-3900

Do I have to move all of my savings into an annuity?

No, and we rarely suggest it. Most plans use an annuity for a portion of savings, enough to cover essential bills, while the rest stays accessible. We will tell you if an annuity is not a good fit at all.

What happens to my money if I die soon after income starts?

That depends on the options you choose. Many annuities offer a cash refund or period-certain feature that pays a beneficiary the unused amount. We explain each option and its cost before you sign.

How does this fit with life insurance I already have?

A permanent policy with cash value can sometimes supplement income or protect a spouse, which may change how much annuity income you need. We review it alongside the rest of your plan. If you still need new coverage, we can also look at term life insurance or whole life insurance.

Does Texas tax my retirement income?

Texas has no state income tax, so annuity and pension income is not taxed at the state level. Federal taxes still apply, and we suggest checking the details with your tax professional.

Will I work with the same person each year?

Yes. The agent who builds your plan handles the paperwork, answers your calls and leads your yearly reviews. You will not be handed off to someone new.
